Homemade Playdough

What is more fun than finding a neat craft to do with your toddler on a rainy day?  I love being able to spend time with Trevor, especially rainy days.  I find that rainy days are the only days that I never feel guilty for not getting my chores done, or feeling the need to run around town running as many errands as possible.  The nerdy science teacher in me always comes out on a rainy day, as I like to take full advantage of any opportunity as a chance to teach Trevor about how fun learning (and science) really is!  Today's activity-making playdough!  If you are interested, just follow the simple steps below:

Ingredients
2 c baking soda
1 1/2 c water
1 c corn starch
food coloring (the more the better)

Directions
Mix the ingredients with a fork, and boil until thick.  The whole process takes about 4 minutes.  I split my dough up so we can have a bunch of different colors, and then create new colors when we mix them together, or rainbows, etc., you get the picture.  This is such a fun project, you will both love it!
