Botany Lessons at the Arboretum

A hidden gem that not too many people remember, or even think to go to is the Arboretum in Arcadia.  This place is so picturesque with beautiful flowers, flowing fountains, waterfalls, and peacocks galore. The price of admission is $8.00 for adults and children under 5 are free.  It is such a fun place to just take a stroll, enjoy a picnic, appreciate Mother Nature, or better yet educate yourself and you little one about how different plants and flowers thrive and survive under different conditions.  T and I had a blast discussing leaf composition and guessing if the plants would be "sunny" or "shady" plants based on leaf structure and texture alone!  Whatever you do, get out there and enjoy the beautiful landscape, have fun running in the grass, and take a moment to stop and smell the flowers.
